Hospital Visit

We had some bad news this week as Andrew had to be admitted to the hospital for a urinary tract infection that needed to be treated with IV antibiotics. We checked into the hospital Wednesday night and were able to come home today (Friday). We had a little adventure there as I'm sure many of you saw on the news that a helicopter crashed on the roof. We had to be evacuated from our room but were relocated after a few hours.

Since a urinary tract infection is unusual in a baby boy we have to have some follow up tests on his kidneys to make sure there are no abnormalities. So please say an extra prayer for our little peanut and we'll be sure to post any updates on the blog.

Below is a picture of the helicopter crash at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital, where Andrew was staying just 3 floors below the crash site.

He finally arrived! Andrew Leonard Woody, born May 15th, 2008

It is with great joy we announce the birth of our son, Andrew Leonard Woody. It was an awe-inspiring experience to witness the birth of our first child. Both Julie and Andew are home from the hospital now and are doing well. For the record, his official stats were as follows: born 5-15-08 at 8:04 pm, weight: 8 lbs 13 oz, length: 20 1/4 inches.

We're waiting patiently for Andrew to make his arrival. I am one day overdue but it feels like I've been ready forever! I just can't wait to meet him.
